Hot Water Heater

It's a sad day when you hop in the shower in a hurry to make an appointment and, lo and behold, no hot water. That's what happened to me yesterday. But thankfully, today we have a new hot water tank that has been installed and ready for use. We really can't complain so much about the old one though. The purchase date on it was 1977. That's a lot of mileage out of one tank. I'll be thankful if the new one lasts half that long.

Sewing with the deaf

While Carol, Carrol and I were in Honduras teaching hearing and deaf ladies to sew, we also got to enjoy a small part of the Honduran scenery. We certainly got a lot done in a short amount of time. I love working with people who are so organized.

La Canadian Hotel

Two ladies from North Dakota invited me to go with them to Honduras to help teach sewing to ladies from a deaf community. It was a successful adventure, thank the Lord. And, we had just as many hearing students as we did deaf.

One day we took a holiday and stayed right on the Caribbean in the La Canadian Hotel near La Ceiba. It happened to be a cloudy, cool day - but we still enjoyed the time there.

For me, it's always good to go and always good to get back home. It was just a little too hot for me in San Pedro Sula.

Honduran scenery

This is one of the beautiful scenes we enjoyed in Honduras last week. If you look hard, you can see the island of Utila in the background.

Recent Trip to Tibet

A little over a year ago Charlie and I took a three week trip to Tibet. Oh what a treat. Did you know in order to get a travel permit (visa) to enter Tibet, you have to stay in China two or three days for the request to be processed? You can't get the permit in advance. That was fun.

The deed is done

Okay. I finished my first blog setup. It's simple and not too great - but it's done. I hope to be diligent and post at least once a week. We'll see.

Paulette's Initial Posting

Okay. I'm finally taking the plunge and setting up my own blogspot. I've avoided it for some time but with the urging of my daughters, I'm going for it today.

Less than a week ago I just got back from Honduras. I met two other ladies (from North Dakota) in San Pedro Sula where we taught sewing at a center for the deaf. We also had ladies who could hear, but the major focus was for the deaf community.

I was sick and on antibiotics even before I left. Sleeping under airconditioning but working in conditions similar to a "sweat shop," I got worse as the week went on. I was thankful to get back home and go back to the doctor. The new antibiotic and two other prescriptions seem to finally be helping. Yea!!

My husband, Charlie, picked me up at the Atlanta airport. We spent Valentine's Day visiting the High Museum to see the Chinese Terra Cotta Soldiers display. Since we've been to China three times already, we were anxious to enjoy the exhibit.

So, this is a start. I'll see if I can continue to blog about ordinary, every day events taking place in my life. My motto is "A day without adventure is a day lost." Therefore, I hope I can always keep my postings interesting and adventureous.
